Academy Program Coordinator , you'll play a key role in conducting basic recruit training and continuing education courses within the assigned program.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for:

Manage the administrative requirements associated with training and education. Establish and maintain course and student files according to College, Academy and CJSTC requirements. Revise and update curricula as necessary. Identify budget needs and prepare budget information as requested for training programs.Manage the learning environment. Identify instructional equipment and resource needs for training. Account for and maintain all related equipment. Resolve student or instructor behavior problems during instruction.Evaluate adjunct firearms tactics instructor performance. Identify and schedule adjunct firearms instructors for Basic Recruit Training and continuing education courses. Recruit new instructors. Assure Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) goals and objectives are adequately and appropriately taught, and instructor credentials are properly documented when appropriate. Ensure instructors demonstrate acceptable content expertise. Ensure instructors model professional interpersonal behaviors. Provide feedback and positive reinforcement to instructors to enhance overall individual instructor competence.Evaluate learner performance. Monitor the performance of learners during classroom instruction and during instructional settings requiring the demonstration of skills that require proficiency. Provide prompt, timely, and specific feedback to students regarding their performance. Develop examination items for use during end-of-block and end-of-course examinations. Administer end-of-block exams and course exams during basic recruit training when requested. Ensure test items used on all exams meet defacto professional standards for the recall and/or understanding and application of instructional objectives. Counsel prospective and current students interested in careers in criminal justice. Remediate learner performance when appropriate. Recommend to the Training Center Director, when appropriate, disciplinary actions regarding students. Consult with appropriate staff from sponsoring agencies/departments on disciplinary actions, when necessary. Prepare dismissal recommendations to the Training Center Director when appropriate.Instruct in Basic Recruit Training courses and in continuing education courses. Serve as lead Academy Instructor in the area of firearms. Establish and maintain professional credibility. Demonstrate content expertise. Model professional interpersonal behaviors in contact with students, with criminal justice agencies/departments, and their respective training officers. Teach as required in any area of criminal justice. Effectively use a variety of instructional methods and media to enhance learning.Who We're Looking ForWe're seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. High school diploma or equivalency.Five years related professional experience.Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission certification as a general topic's instructor.Bonus points if you have:
