Position Overview:
We are assisting our client seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join their onshore team. The Assistant Controller will be integral for financial operations, having a dedication to accuracy, and making contributions to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of oil and gas accounting principles, strong analytical skills and a solid foundation of understanding in accounting.Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and accounting standards.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
General Ledger Management:
Ensure transactions are recorded timely and accurately by maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Monitoring budget performance over the different quarters and providing variance analysis.Creating and analyzing financial forecasts
Audit and Compliance:
Provide necessary documentation and explanations while supporting internal and external audit processes.Have a keen eye for internal controls, policies and procedures.Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing all necessary supporting information, and address audit findings in a timely manner.
Data Analysis:
Identify trends, patterns, and insights that supports business decision making.Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports for management to review.
Process Improvement:
Streamline financial processes.Identify opportunities to implement improvements in accounting procedures.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in and knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry is required. Onshore experience is highly preferred/required.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.CPA designation highly preferred.Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in oil and gas accounting and finance roles.Data Analytics expertise highly preferred.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including experience with financial reporting and analysis.Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving results.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.Location:
