This person will play a critical role in helping us expand our reach among target audiences—namely health and social service providers in the Southeast—to advance our vision for a transformed healthcare system. The Communications Managerhas primary responsibility for managing Provide’s digital channels and works cross-functionally to design, implement, and evaluate effective marketing campaigns. This person also serves as an organizational representative when called upon, including exhibiting at industry conferences.Our ideal candidate is a skilled marketing and communications professional with experience in the reproductive health, rights, and justice movement. They have a demonstrated track record of creating engaging, high-quality content across social media platforms and other digital properties. At their core, this person is an excellent communicator, organized, discerning, highly collaborative, and balances creativity with critical and analytical thinking. They are proactive in their approach to communications work; they plan ahead but remain flexible enough to pivot when needed. They consistently meet agreed-upon deadlines. Lastly, they center equity and inclusivity in all their work, using communication to break down stigma around abortion and other healthcare, advance racial justice, and promote a vision of a world where every person is treated with dignity and respect.The Communications Manager leads the development and execution of digital marketing strategies that raise organizational visibility, promote engagement with key audiences, and support Provide’s programmatic goals. This is a full time (40 hr/week) remote work position based in the US. This position will require travel for organizational meetings and additional conference marketing (up to 25%). This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Digital Communications Strategy and Implementation – 50%Ensures impeccable communications around Provide’s web-based and in-person trainings including but not limited to listing trainings on the Provide website, promoting trainings to hit target registration goals, and completing follow-up communications with registrants and attendees.Maintains a robust content calendar for all of Provide’s digital channels, including email, newsletters, social media, blog posts and other web content, and online advertising. Creates and curates a compelling mix of promotional, educational, and activating content that is aligned with Provide’s strategic goals, advocacy work, values, and voice.Monitors the news and messaging guidance from partners across the reproductive health, rights, and justice landscape to develop both proactive and reactive messaging that is aligned with Provide’s advocacy voice and goals. Uses good judgment to determine if/how to apply Provide’s voice when sharing news or movement items.Regularly reports on and analyzes results from digital campaigns, including producing monthly metrics reports, quarterly online engagement reports, and annual engagement reports. Works with the Director of Marketing and Communication to make meaning of topline metrics and inform ongoing strategy.Fields inquiries that come in via Provide’s website and other digital channels, routing inquiries from external audiences (including providers, donors, and media) to the appropriate staff person.Internal Collaboration and Program Support – 30%Supports the marketing and communications needs of Provide’s program division (including program development, outreach/engagement, and program evaluation teams). Applies a strategic lens to all project requests to ensure alignment with strategic goals/priorities and works with the internal stakeholder(s) to plan and execute work to fulfill needs.Collects orders from staff and works with vendors to fulfill agency-wide quarterly product ordering of printedmaterials and other marketing products (such as swag items).Serves as an internal and external steward of the Provide brand, ensuring all products align with Provide’s core messaging, values, and visual brand standards.Assists the Director of Marketing and Communications with department planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives to advance the needs of the organization, including but not limited to provider storytelling, media pitches, and advocacy messaging.Assists the Director of Marketing and Communications and Development team with donor communications and events, as needed. Fields urgent requests from the Development and Executive teams when the DMC is unavailable, as needed.Provides copyediting support and feedback to the Director of Marketing Communications and other internal stakeholders, as needed and requested.Participates in and makes valuable contributions to interdepartmental meetings, facilitating generative conversation and surfacing marketing communications needs/opportunities.Conference Marketing and Outreach – 20%Works with the Director of Marketing Communications and programs division leadership to select appropriate conferences to prioritize for advertising, sponsorship, and exhibiting.Develops conference materials (e.g., handouts, swag items, ads).Travels to and represents Provide at select exhibit booths, including coordinating the logistics of transporting materials to and from the conference location, booth setup and teardown, creating audience-specific talking points, interacting enthusiastically with conference attendees, accurately promoting Provide’s offerings, and following up with new contacts appropriately.Communicates challenges, successes, and results to relevant collaborators to inform ongoing conference marketing strategy.QualificationsA minimum of 3 year’s experience in a marketing/communications role, preferably in the nonprofit sector with responsibilities that included social media management and other digital communications. Experience withreproductive rights/health/justice communication is a plus.Excellent copywriting skills including the ability to produce compelling feature writing, profile writing, promotional copy, and advocacy messaging, including translating technical language and ideas into compelling language easily understood by non-specialists. Ability to write from a lens of equity and using inclusive communication.Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to represent Provide with enthusiasm and communicate program offerings to diverse audiences at industry conferences. Previous experience with exhibiting (at community events or professional conference settings) is a plus.Experience working with a wide array of digital communications platforms including social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X), website editors (e.g., WordPress), and email marketing (e.g., MailChimp).Skilled at designing and executing compelling organic and targeted social media campaigns that drive reach and audience engagement. Experience with creating TikToks or Instagram Reels is a plus.Ability to produce brand-aligned multimedia content following principles of effective design using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.Experience analyzing and reporting on digital performance and making recommendations using tools such as Google Analytics and various platform-based metricsDemonstrated ability to manage a project from start to finish while balancing additional responsibilities.Ability to travel for internal meetings, conference marketing, Provide trainings, and/or donor events as needed.Ability to work within a highly collaborative, remote, team-oriented environment.Commitment to and excitement about Provide’s core mission, values, and programs.LocationProvide employees are remote workers and do not have a physical office location.
