Job Summary

TYLin City Solutions is seeking a full-time Transportation Analyst in Albany, NY to assist the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) with Technology Plan support at their offices at 50 Wolf Road, in Albany, NY.

Organizational Relationship:

Reports to the Director, TSMO Bureau with a dotted line reporting to TYLin's Associate - Program Manager, Transportation Ops

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

* Assist consultants with meetings, facilitation, program analysis, and asset management* Maintain Microsoft Project schedules* Record keeping and note taking at meetings and when coordinating with consultants* Tracking progress of various action items* Facilitation of and collaboration in small group activities* Report writing* Basic Microsoft Excel spreadsheet creation and management* Aid in Scheduling in-person and online meetings* Assist with reporting, performance metrics, and program analytics for the technology plan* Assist in reviewing correspondence received from consultants.* Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical reports prepared by others.

Education Qualifications:

* Associates Degree in relevant field or equivalent job experience.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Candidates for this position should be proficient in the following areas:

* Detail oriented with the ability to quickly convert meeting notes into proposed action items* Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Project and/or other scheduling software* Confident speaking in front of small groups* Excellent grammar and writing skills* Capable of assisting with root cause analysis* Demonstrated critical thinking skills* Some familiarity with cyber security* Familiarity with Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) technology* Excellent organization skills* Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, goal, and objectives of traffic operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Ability to read, write and understand English with excellent communication verbal and written skills.* Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to multi-task and remain calm during high pressure situations.* Ability to professionally interact with all levels of management.* Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.* Willing and able to travel up to 5 percent for meetings, training, etc.
