Summary of the Role:
In this Internship, you will work directly with and support the Risk & Safety Manager with developing and implementing the occupational risk and safety program. Here you will learn how to research, plan, build, and execute programs related to risk and occupational health and safety in a number of environments, and while partnering across functions including Operations, Venues, Human Resources, Legal, and Engineering. This role may be of interest to students from a variety of backgrounds and majors, such as organizational behavior, psychology, engineering, chemistry, environmental studies, public policy, public health, political science or government, and legal.
Responsibilities:
Conduct agile research around regulatory and industry best practices for safety programming, including OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other state regulations.Contribute to safety program development around site equipment and materials such as compressed gases, chemicals, and kitchen equipment.Create inspection checklists and preventative maintenance checklists and assist in conducting inspections.Define a battery and lights disposal program at Cosm Venues, including researching process, vendors and collaborating with venue specific team members.Assist in writing, reviewing, and communicating safety policies and procedures, including public speaking for training sessions.Support the Risk & Safety Manager with risk related situations that arise in the venues through research, documentation, and process updates.All Internships Include:

Junior or Senior at the start of the program.Available to work in a Cosm Office (hybrid).Available to work 20 hours per week during the defined Intern period.Legally authorized to work in the U.S.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Interest in immersive technology and content.Available for potential travel to our Dallas Venue (would work any travel around school commitments)Available for local travel to the Los Angeles Venue, in addition to the Playa Vista OfficeEmpathetic, understanding, and analytical towards safety, behavior, and processes.Critical thinking and creativity towards problem-solving.Curiosity to learn, ability to engage with, listen, and lead across different departments and positions.The hourly pay for this position is $16.90/hr.
