Freelance Socks Designer

Job OverviewThe Freelance Socks Designer will be responsible for creating and developing innovative and stylish socks designs alongside with the Senior Designer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sock design, with specific expertise in technical as well as the creative side of sock design. This role requires excellent communication skills, ability to follow direction but also work independently without much supervision, keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the senior designer along with various teams to ensure the highest quality of design and production.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed technical sketches, specs, and multiple colorways for sock designs using Adobe Illustrator and PLM.Work closely with the senior designer as needed.Communicate effectively with the senior designer and with cross functional teams to ensure timely and accurate seasonal lines.Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, focusing on seasonal and early development timelines.Coordinate with PD, merch and production teams to adhere to deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.Assist with trend forecasting and research to keep designs fresh and competitive.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field from an accredited institution.3+ years of experience in knitwear design, with a strong focus on socks and cold weather accessories.Proficiency in Adobe CC Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Flex PLM.Strong technical skills in sock design and the ability to create patterns using Photoshop and Illustrator.Professional and positive, can-do attitude.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.A strong eye for detail and a passion for innovative design
