Systems Administrator
who will be responsible for providing essential technical support for computer hardware and software applications.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :Works with engineering and other management teams to accept direction including:Coordinating and consulting with vendors for various servicesAccessing end clients’ needs for hardware, software, services, and support.Implementing processes, systems, tools, and applications.Working in a team to complete various IT related projects in a timely manner.Performing related duties as assignedProvides escalation (L2) support to other internal groups / departments such as ITSD as needed. This will include advanced trouble shooting, investigation of technical issues and development of solutions that can be implemented directly or delivered to other departments for implementation.Installs, configures, and documents hardware and software for end user services.Manages multi-functional printers (MFPs) for network printing, faxing, and scanning.Manages update / patching processes including:Firmware UpdatesSoftware updateOperating system updatesDesktop updatesNetwork appliance updatesFirewall updatesManages and administers Active Directory for both on-premises and Azure AD accounts.Monitors systems readiness status including:Anticipating potential problems and takes action to solve them before impacting users.Monitoring network alarms / server alarmsManaging network switch bandwidth / utilizationManaging virtualization environment statusManaging site to site connectivity / statusManaging wireless connectivity / statusPerforming trend analysisOverseeing access Controls.Providing audit support (reports, statistics, data).Manages Inventory including:New and existing hardware / software inventory managementLicense ManagementProviding Software Versioning and ControlAssisting in managing hardware warranties and software licensingTesting software and reviewing application logsManages and develops processes including:Documenting configurations / processes and controlsDeveloping processes & documentation for training of other departmentsDeveloping daily / routine functions.Contributing to internal knowledge base with technical documentation, manuals, and IT Process training materials.Assisting with the new hire onboarding, packages, processes, and documentationDecommissioning packages and processesPerforming Hardware stagingPerforming Operating system ImagingPerforming Application SupportPerforming Application ConfigurationOverseeing Account remediation (offboarding).Developing documentation as neededDeveloping and implementing Process and Procedures/Runbooks/Documentation.Provides Data Protection (Backups) which includes:Ensuring the integrity of data storage and backup systemsConfigurationRemediationManages Security including:Working with the direction from the Senior Solutions Architect / HIPPA security officer to perform Incident detection / manage response / remediation and perform the following functions:Monitoring security processes including network vulnerability scanning, EDR and MDR systems.Managing highly Privileged Accounts (HPA).Managing and maintaining building security and surveillance systems.Managing Email & PhishingManaging VPN, maintaining and supporting remote connectivity for approved remote workers.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Experience with IT related hardware / software applicationsExperience with Cisco / Meraki networks in a multi-campus environmentExperience with Windows servers in a multi-campus environmentExperience with Disaster Recovery process for a multi-campus installation.Experience with Information security.Experience with Office 365.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or a related field.Desired Certifications: CCNE, MSCE, CompTIA server or Nutanix / VMware certifiedEXPERIENCE:At least four (4) years of experience in the following areas:Experience with multi-campus networking environmentExperience monitoring security solutions including EDR & MDR systems.Network experience including:Microsoft NetworkingActive DirectoryMeraki HardwareCisco HardwareVirtualization experience includingNutanix / VMwareHardware experience including:hardware configurationInternet/intranet configurationsEmail systemsTelecommunications and data communicationsHardware inventory managementSoftware experience including:Computer operating systemsSoftware deploymentSoftware patchingSoftware inventory managementVital Tech Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action employer.
