The Employee Relations Manager is a self-motivated, trusted advisor who operates with a high level of integrity and can gain the trust of stakeholders at all levels in the organization. The ER Manager serves as a subject matter expert on employee relations matters, which includes the proactive engagement of management and employees to provide continual guidance and education on company policies, programs, and procedures. This role is also responsible for managing investigations on complex workplace issues and providing recommendations to resolve them, while also maintaining a balanced and impartial viewpoint. This role may be called on to participate in a crisis management response and labor relations.Responsibilities
Partners with ER team members, HRBPs, HR COEs, Legal, and other partners as needed to address and resolve a broad range of employee issues, including progressive discipline, performance management, involuntary separations, and litigation matters.Contribute with both hands-on and strategic support to our people managers through effective employee relations management, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as alignment with company policies and AUSA's broader people strategy.Conducts complex investigations on a wide range of sensitive issues; prepares written analysis and reports with findings and recommendations for resolutions.Provide regular coaching and education to employees and people managers on policies and guidelines to enable decision-making processes that foster a fair and equitable work environment.Provides guidance on leave, accommodation, and disability policies and processes, ensuring a close partnership with the Leave and Accommodation team.Provide ideas and recommendations to improve processes and overall effectiveness of the ER function.Work with ER team leadership to continuously improve upon Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to identify trends and address root causes.Working with the Employee Relations Director assessing different types of risk and bring creative and effective ideas and solutions to complex people related issues.Regularly collaborate with team members on significant ER matters and investigations to provide mutual guidance, share best practices, and identify trends.Partner with the Employment Law team to effectively support the investigative process, particularly on matters with the potential for significant exposure to the organization.Partner with all Human Resources constituents to ensure ongoing alignment on delivering the appropriate employee experience.Partner with the labor relations team on all people related issues covered by a collective bargaining agreement.Provides recommendations for the development or amendment of policies and procedures to the policy and compliance team to address and manage common issues and trends.Qualifications
