Summary:
The Vendor QA Manager has a vital role in ensuring the ongoing quality and safety of raw material deliveries from our suppliers. This position involves oversight of Procurement processes as they relate to supplier quality and compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality throughout the supply chain as a part of the Procurement team with a focus on supplier side activities.
Job Duties:• Develop and implement supplier quality policies and procedures for Procurement activities.• Support supplier audits as needed to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, providing feedback and requiring corrective actions when necessary.• Support the Procurement team in the effective tracking and monitoring of vendor compliance to company's food safety and quality policies and also vendor contract and delivery standards in accordance with the vendor performance management system.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality Assurance, R&D, and Quality Control to identify, contain, and resolve, material quality issues.• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and certifications related to food safety as it relates to supplier quality.• Support the management of documentation related to Procurement supplier quality, such as audit reports, supplier certifications, and quality agreements.• Train and support Procurement staff on supplier quality processes and best practices

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; 3 (three) plus years of QA and Procurement experience in the food industry or a related field. Strong understanding of food safety regulations and standards. Demonstrated success in improving supplier quality performance in a manufacturing environment. Advanced certifications in quality assurance or food safety are a plus.
Skills:
Excel, PowerPoint, Access, ERP, strong project management skills, data analysis, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Other Requirements:
Work requires original and independent thinking in handling highly complex issues. Work activities are extremely variable and require interpretation of detailed guidelines, policies, and procedures. In some cases, guidelines may not be available, anticipation of needs and initiatives are important. This position willrequire regular contacts involving operating matters that involve controversy or significant complexity.
Abilities:• Able to interpret material specifications for purposes of identifying potential non-conformances in raw materials.• Utilization of corrective action reports in service of resolving raw material non-conformances with suppliers in a timely manner.• Able to work closely with business functions and key stakeholders on new products.• Able to identify gaps in current Procurement processes as it relates to supplier quality and recommend and implement solutions.• Ability to audit material suppliers on-site and complete thorough and timely audit documentation. Audits may result in follow-up corrective action with suppliers.• Excellent team, communication, and organizational skills.
