Responsibilities

Network OperationsMaintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.Coordinating computer network access and use.Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.Monitoring/Troubleshooting/Documentation

Monitor network performance and maintain operational excellence for our corporate networksTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems.Receive ticket from support desk and work with the customers and other engineers to get the problem fixed.Create and update technical diagramsProject Work

Participate in project work like office construction and complete projects independently with other stakeholders.Design, configure, and test networking software.Process improvementAnalyse the process and issues involved in the implementation of Rakuten corporate IT programs in the America region.

Build runbooks and lead automation efforts

Requirements

5 years or more experience in a network engineering roleBachelor's degree in information technology related field of study with a network engineering focus.Strong working experience with enterprise vendor solutions such as Cisco, PaloAlto, Juniper Mist or Aruba Silver Peak.Strong understanding of network technologies (LAN/WAN routing/switching, wireless, firewall and VPNs).Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.Dependable and flexible when necessary.LAN and WAN experience.Basic knowledge and experience with UNIX and Windows based OS.Basic scripting skill on Python/PowerShell.Basic knowledge of automation tools.Ability to design network architecture coordinating with multi-national teams.Ability to test, evaluate new devices and technologies and publish reports and recommendations for management.Lead troubleshooting in the team with good analytical and problem-solving skills.Comfortable with mentoring Junior/Middle level engineerNetwork security experience and incident remediation skills a plusAny major network certifications a plus.

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
