This position may be located three days a week in our San Mateo, CA office, or remote in Dallas, TX.

SUMMARY:

The Senior IT Audit will report to the Rakuten USA Internal Audit, Senior Manager and will be a critical part of the Rakuten Americas Internal Audit Team. IT Senior Auditor will assist the IT Audit Manager in establishing an effective IT internal audit program including identifying, planning, organizing and executing audits that work towards Rakuten's goals and objectives. The position will have a key role in assessing the company's compliance with the requirements of the Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) act as well as EU General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumers Protection Act. The position will be further called on to identify and implement Information Technology department process improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for planning, organizing, and executing IT audit engagements of IT internal controls, application controls, technology infrastructure, the Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) controls and IT processesWork collaboratively with Information Security team, and external auditors to evaluate IT general control design, implementation, and operating effectiveness in support of Japanese Sarbanes Oxley (JSOX) act as well as EU General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumers Protection ActAbility to understand, evaluate and document design and operating effectiveness of IT internal controls through detailed testingAssist in the development of the annual risk assessment and IT internal audit planAssist in the development of audit strategies, best practices and utilization of technologySupport operational, financial and compliance audits, as neededAssist IT management in the development of remediation activities and ensure that management action plans are implementedPerform follow-up review of prior audit issues, determining if appropriate corrective actions have been taken to address previously issued recommendationsPerform data analytics with a dedicated software programEnsure audit work papers and reports are completed timely, logical, and organized to support conclusionsPerform other projects and activities, as assignedEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in information systems, Accounting or related business field3-5 years' experience in Internal Audit or IT audit environmentA professional certification such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CPA, or CCIM is preferredExperience with data analytics tools such as tableau and SQL is preferredExperience with large scale ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft) around system implementations and general computing controlsKnowledge of SDLC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO, IT General Controls preferredExcellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms; previous experience in writing internal audit reports, preferredTravel up to approximately 30%

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
