Position Overview
Epstein is currently seeking an innovative, hard-working individual with a degree in Interior Design from an accredited school. The candidate will be collaborating with design and technical leadership as part of a project team. The position requires a motivated, detail oriented individual capable of working as part of a team on multiple projects including Corporate, Hospitality, Aviation, Retail, Multi-Family, and Industrial sectors of design. The position requires competency in construction documentation, detailing, FF&E and finish specifications. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the design process under the guidance and mentorship from the senior staff.
General Responsibilities
Participate in programming and visioning sessions on new projects.Develop conceptual strategies, design sketches, 3-D modeling, finish palettes, FF&E, and presentation packages for Schematic and Design Development phases.Complete Construction Documentation including specifications, code analysis, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plan, furniture plans, details, door and hardware schedules, etc.Coordinate with project engineers and consultants as required throughout the design process.Submit drawings and documentation for permit review and approval to the authorities having jurisdiction.Review submittals, answer RFI's and prepare addendums and bulletins during the Construction Administration phase of each project.Participate in site visits and verifications as required for each project.Participate in project Punch Walks and prepare punch item lists.Prepare closeout documentation as required by the project.Help maintain the library, keep it organized and up to date.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited school.1-3 years of experienceTechnical proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programsKnowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)Knowledge base of programming, space planning, and material selectionDemonstrate basic knowledge of construction documentation and a familiarity with building codes and the Americans with Disabilities Act.Ability to communicate design ideas through sketching, visioning, and concept developmentKnowledge of rendering software such as Enscape, Sketchup, 3DMax, or Rhino is a plus.
