The Immunization Coordinator will ensure the immunization program has adequate supply of vaccines to administer to patients. This role will work with the immunization team to ensure vaccines are administered in compliance with standard guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities
Validates immunization information and enter missing data to eClinicalWorks (eCW), California Immunization Registry (CAIR), and immunization cards to ensure accuracyWorks with Immunization Team to identify the correct vaccine, order, and dosage for patientsAdministers injections and vaccination information sheets (VIS) to patientsSchedules vaccine appointments for patients, including recall appointment for additional vaccinesRuns missed opportunity reports to add on to recall listProvides quarterly and PRN updated vaccine in-services and information to current medical assistant (MA) staffMonitors vaccine inventory; including ordering vaccines, checking vaccine expiration dates, monitoring/maintaining temperature logs, and cleaning refrigerators/freezersPerforms bi-weekly and PRN counts to maintain accurate inventoryUses and stores vaccines in compliance with Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Vaccines for Adults (VFA) guidelinesGenerates and provides management immunization reports, as directedWorks with MA Trainer to provide immunization training to other MAs, as neededQualifications
Education/Experience
High school/GED requiredMedical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification requiredValid BLS certification required upon hireOne year of experience administering vaccines preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredAdditional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skillsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formKnowledgeable about and experience with immunizationsAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent planning and organizational abilityAbility to work as part of a team as well as independentlyAbility to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift/carry 15 lbs/weightAbility to stand for long periods of time

Pay range: $23.46 -$33.20 per hour, depending on experience.
