Irwin Fritchie Urquhart Moore & Daniels, LLC is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our New Orleans Team. The Paralegal candidate will be expected to work as a team player and utilize their experience and judgment to assist with supporting the team's efforts. Candidates must show initiative, have excellent organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and be proficient with technology, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe) and other litigation software. Construction litigation is highly preferred. On the job training will also be provided. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three (3) years of paralegal experience. A Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have:Experience in all phases of the litigation process, particularly as it relates to construction casesBe proficient in drafting basic pleadings and motions such as Notices of Deposition, subpoenasPreparation of Witness/Exhibit Lists, Pre-Trial Inserts and Pre-Trial OrdersRequesting/preparing trial subpoenas (State & Federal Courts)Management of the scheduling order and deadlines thereinScheduling trial testimony of experts & clientsPossess basic legal research skills such as Westlaw, Lexis/NexisBe able to show initiative, prioritize, meet deadlines, adaptable to fluctuating priorities and deadlines, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervisionBe able to navigate electronic databases and documents for organization, review, and/or summaryBe enthusiastic about learning and strong interpersonal skills for interaction with all firm personnel, clients, outside counsel, and vendorsDemonstrate initiative and exercise professional judgment, and proactively communicate with team membersBe proficient in managing and navigating matters and pleadings in Louisiana state and federal courtsAbility to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects for several attorneysAbility to search database programs and assist with organizing, summarizing and/or categorizing documents.Strong verbal and written communication skills; Exceptionally well organized and detail oriented; Adaptable to changing priorities; flexibleThe ability to manage a case all the way through trial preparation / trial attendance
