Program Manager - Rescue 21 Support in Alaska

Provides project management professional services for an IT support program that maintains 60+ remote tower/antenna facilities throughout Alaska, including preventive and corrective maintenance of IT and mechanical systems for US Coast Guard Rescue 21 and Vessel Traffic Systems. Provides leadership and is responsible for project direction through successful performance of a variety of detailed, diverse elements of project management tasks. Directs task to completion, ensuring task orders are completed on time and within budget. Schedules and assigns duties to subordinates and ensures assignments are completed as directed. Interfaces with Government representatives and reports to the Program Manager on project progress/status and various issues or problems.

Provides product review and quality assurance
Manages the planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery.
Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior management.
Responsible for managing activities of external consultants and/or vendors.
Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, computer science, or related discipline from an accredited institution or have equivalent experience.
The Project Manager must have training and at least five years of project management or equivalent experience. Project Management Professional training and certification is desired.
