Responsible for Investigating employment, housing, and public accommodations discrimination complaints and other cases that fall within the jurisdiction of the Human Rights Section, Housing Options, Solutions, and Support Division.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, law or closely related field.Requires two (2) years and six (6) months of experience conducting investigations and regulatory compliance in Equal Employment Opportunity; Fair Housing; Public Accommodations Discrimination; or closely related field.Special Certifications and Licenses

Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.Position will interact with both complainants and respondents. Responsibilities include receiving initial inquiries regarding fair housing and public accommodation complaints of discrimination.Assessing inquiries from potential complainants to determine if they are jurisdictional to the Broward County Human Rights Act.

Drafting employment, fair housing and public accommodation complaints of discrimination under Federal law or the Broward County human Rights Ordinance.

Interviewing complainants, respondents, and witnesses to obtain facts relevant to employment, fair housing and public accommodation complaints of discrimination under Federal law or the Broward County human Rights Ordinance.

Conciliating employment, fair housing and public accommodation complaints of discrimination under Federal law or the Broward County human Rights Ordinance, when applicable.

Creates, develops, prepares, and forwards detailed investigative reports, determinations, and recommendations to the unit Supervisor/designee for review and approval.

Participates in outreach activities to educate the public on their rights and responsibilities under Federal Fair Housing laws and the Broward County Human Rights Ordinance.

Entering relevant information into the HUD portal.

Investigating complaints, making determinations based on the evidence presented in the case, drafting detailed final reports and determinations.

Works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. The Section supports the Human Rights Board.
