We offer full-benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401K with pension plans).The HR Generalist 3 serves as a member of a Staff Team within a shared services model of the integrated HR organization. The position partners closely with a set of client departments to facilitate their business goals and proactively address and resolve routine and complex problems by applying policy knowledge and experience. The HR Generalist is in charge of partnering with departments, schools, business units and specialty centers to deliver efficient and effective HR services and ensure compliance with UCSF HR policy and procedures. As a seasoned, experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of UC systemwide and campus staff HR practices, policies and procedures, the HR Generalist 3 resolves the full range of moderate to complex staff HR issues (employment, compensation, salary administration, benefits and leaves, performance management, employee and labor relations) affecting a broad range of staff titles. The HR Generalist 3 works on problems that are diverse and complex in scope, where inquiry of situations requires a review of a variety of factors to recommend and implement solutions.The HR Generalist 3 will be held accountable to high customer service standards, service level agreements and related metrics. The HR Generalist will perform all duties with tact, discretion and according to confidentiality requirements.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and minimum three years of Human Resources experience and/ or equivalent experience / trainingPossesses strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.Has thorough knowledge of human resources concepts, policies and procedures, employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training and other areas of human resources.Knows or has the ability to learn the university's Human Resources Management Systems and other related business software programs and systems.Skilled in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.Demonstrates skill in prioritizing competing work assignments, employing political acumen and integrating information to determine appropriate courses of action and their implications.Demonstrated analytical, active listening, and critical thinking skills.Demonstrated ability to handle very difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.Preferred QualificationsHas thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, knowledge of functional area and understands how work may affect other areas.HR Professional certification (e.g. PHR, SHRM-CP etc.)About UCSFThe University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
