The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Director to join our Human Resources team located in Seattle, WA. The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead the strategy and team of talent acquisition professionals dedicated to hiring the top talent for today and ensuring a pipeline of innovative talent for the future through leveraging both relationships and technology. They will inform, influence, and consult with our senior leaders on their talent acquisition philosophies and approaches to deliver the highest impact to the business. This role is part of the Human Resources Senior Leadership Team (HRSLT).
Primary responsibilities include:
Talent Acquisition Strategy:
Develop, lead, enhance and implement the talent acquisition strategy for the McKinstry companies and new entities
Partner closely with HRLST, executives and senior leaders to proactively understand workforce needs and align talent acquisition efforts and priorities with long-term business objectives
Understand differing maturity levels of various business entities from early stage, high-growth, and mature, and continually adjusting strategies as needed
Identify and prioritize all hiring needs across the organization while influencing and partnering with business leaders
Develop, manage, and enhance talent pipeline programs, including internship program
Drive the scalability of the talent acquisition service delivery model
Utilize market intelligence to deliver best-in-class practices for end-to-end recruitment process
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within recruitment processes, ensuring our hiring practices reflect our commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Own and manage the recruiting budget, partnering with the Sr Director, Talent
Leadership:
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of high-performing Talent Acquisition professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
Serve as an advisor, developing solid relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders across the enterprise including LOB, CSU and DV; be valued as a subject matter expert
Monitor and respond to internal and external factors impacting hiring decisions
Exercise discretion with highly confidential and/or sensitive information
Technology, Metrics, and Analytics:
Oversee the management of recruitment technology platforms and systems (ATS, reporting, etc.)
Utilize advanced recruitment technologies, including AI-powered sourcing tools, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and data analytics, to improve sourcing, screening, and selection processes
Implement workforce planning and predictive analytics tools to anticipate future talent needs and streamline talent pipelines.
Establish key metrics to measure the success of recruitment efforts, including time-to-fill, quality of hire, candidate satisfaction, and diversity metrics
Analyze data to identify trends, provide insights, and drive continuous improvement in recruitment processes.
External Partnerships and Employer Branding:
Build, sustain and manage relationships with 3rd party staffing agencies and RPO partners
Build and maintain strong relationships with external recruitment partners, universities, associations, and industry networks to source diverse talent pools
Partner with marketing and communications team to strengthen McKinstry’s employer brand, ensuring it resonates with target candidates
Oversee initiatives to build awareness of McKinstry as an employer of choice through social media, online platforms, and industry events
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
10+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven track record in leveraging technology and data to optimize recruitment processes and improve outcomes
Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams
Strong understanding of DEI principles and a demonstrated commitment to inclusive hiring practices
Familiarity with recruitment tools such as ATS systems (Jobvite highly preferred)
Executive presence and influencing skills demonstrated by an experience building robust and lasting relationships with senior leaders
Strong consultative partner, communicator and facilitator
Ability to design and lead complex, strategic talent initiatives
Experience in organizational transformation, human resources consulting, and/or people practice development desired
Demonstrated ability to translate high level direction into coherent strategic plans
Experience and passion for people, strategic planning and related story telling
Proven agile leader and collaborator in highly dynamic environments and high-growth businesses
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance (or similar field), or equivalent experience

The pay range for this position is $124,000 - $211,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
