Our Position: We are currently seeking an Associate Director of Vocational and Employment Services (VES) who under supervision- develops, coordinates and supervises the service activities in the Vocational and Employment Services Department; reviews assessments and service plans for quality, assures compliance with Vocational and Employment Services’ standards and guidelines; performs related duties, as assigned.
This position also involves:
Monitoring all service activities to assure the quality, continuity, and comprehensiveness of service to individuals receiving services
Monitoring implementation of service plan through reviewing records, regular supervision and consultation; as needed, participates in case conferences; assures regular reassessment of service plan

Our Requirements:
Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or another closely related developmental disabilities field PLUS one year of full-time paid direct experience providing services to developmentally disabled adults, which includes one year of supervisory responsibility

Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or another closely related developmental disabilities field PLUS three years full-time paid direct service experience with disabled adults which includes one year with supervisory responsibility
PLUS
A valid New York State Driver’s License, approved driving record and reliable transportation. Extensive driving between various sites-meeting places, with little or no notice is a regular part of the job

Position Summary:

Reporting Relationship:
Receives administrative and program supervision from the Director of Vocational and Employment Services; provides direct administrative and program supervision to the Coordinator of Vocational and Employment Services and the Coordinator of OPWDD Supported Employment as well as other professional and support staff in various community-based locations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Service Management
Monitors all service activities to assure the quality, continuity, and comprehensiveness of service to individuals receiving services.
Recommends and implements an organized program of supervision for professional staff in order to meet mandated regulatory and funding source requirements.
Reviews Individuals assessments, assignment and termination decisions as needed supervises the development of service plans. Completes quality checks in all vocational and employment program areas
Determines the resources needed to carry out planned and existing services; recommends same to the Director of Vocational and Employment Services.
Monitors implementation of service plan through records review, regular supervision and consultation; as needed, participates in case conferences; assures regular reassessment of service plan.
Evaluates staff performance consistent with Agency performance evaluation guidelines and procedures; makes recommendations to Director of Vocational and Employment Services for promotion, increments, termination.
Assesses staff training needs, and with Director of Vocational and Employment Services, assures provision of job-related training for all assigned staff and volunteers.
Participates in the recruitment, selection and termination of staff for the Vocational and Employment Program; recommends actions to be taken to Director of Vocational and Employment Services.
Meets with program participants, families and supports on an as needed basis.
Assures implantation of Agency policies regarding orientation of new staff.
As assigned, works with the Arc for Business team, and other appropriate programs to assist in job placement of Individual s into Supported Employment Programs.
Develop and maintain post-secondary programing at local colleges and universities
Facilitate group session to individuals in vocational programs on various topics in educational and community settings
Develop new vocational program with new and existing funders
As needed, will work directly with the individuals we serve to develop jobs appropriate to their desires, talents, and capabilities.
Identifies underserved populations and creates new programing with advisement from the Director of Vocational and Employment Services
Evaluates programs capacity ongoing and provides recommendations for growth in services and staffing.
Completes mandatory training requirements set forth by funding sources.
Completes all other job duties as assigned.
Service Administration and Coordination
Assures that direct service activities are coordinated and carried out, and that all service records are adequately maintained.
Assures that services are delivered consistent with regulatory and funding source standards and guidelines.
Assists in the evaluation of program effectiveness from previously stated goals, objectives, and criteria and makes recommendations to Director of Vocational and Employment Services.
Assures that all statistical and service records are adequate, accurate and up-to-date, and that required reports are forwarded to Director of Vocational and Employment Services
Informs staff of Agency policies, procedures, program plans and other relevant information to assure coordination of information between the other Vocational and Employment Services Programs and their supervisors.
Assists Director of Vocational and Employment Services in establishing working relationships with community resources, education partners, referral agencies and supportive services in order to assure the provision of comprehensive services to clients.
