Position Summary
The Financial Controller will oversee/perform all aspects of accounting to ensure efficient processes are in place while producing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.This position will be a critical hands-on leader and manager for Dynaire in Mineola, NY.He/she will participate in building a highly scalable, best-in-class accounting organization as a key partner with the senior leadership team.
Key Deliverables
Efficient management of all accounting department activities, including project accounting, accounts payable, WIP, billings & collections, cashflow, fixed assets, payroll, HR and benefitsMonthly financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP, budgeting, KPI reportingOptimize, develop and monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controlsPosition Responsibilities
Lead monthly and annual accounting close; implement robust processes to ensure financial statement integrity, including balance sheet account reconciliations, income statement analysisWork closely with Project Managers and Operations leadership to evaluate status of jobs in progress, update cost to complete and ensure all billing (AIA, Service) is accurate and timelyAssist with developing annual budget & monthly forecasts, monitor financial performanceOversee payroll process and ensure compliance with all reporting requirementsWork closely with senior leadership to facilitate efficient operationsIdentify opportunities for cost reduction and cost savingsCoordinate with external auditors to ensure successful engagement, providerequested materials/schedules, and information needed to support the auditSupport team with key strategic and process improvement initiativesOther duties as assignedPosition Requirements
Minimum
5-7 years of prior accounting experienceBachelor's degree in accountingStrong understanding of GAAP accountingExperience with Construction/Contractor accountingExperience with new system implementationsDemonstrated ability to lead and drive process improvementStrong systems proficiency, ability to navigate multiple platformsExperience leading, organizing and developing a teamStrong ability to communicate accounting and financial information using common languageExperience preparing and reviewing financial statementsExtreme organization and priority setting skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and leadership abilityHighly motivated, able to take initiative, and comfortable working independentlyHigh energy, ownership of work product and dedication to driving results in a fast-paced environmentAnalytical - finds meaning and action in numbers, and is data-drivenExcellent communicator - written and oralResourceful - figures out how to creatively achieve results with finite resourcesThrives in a nimble, lean, entrepreneurial environmentPositive attitude, team player, works collaborativelyImpeccable integrity and ethical standardsSelf-aware, accepting, honest, open, and respectful of othersPr
