Network Engineer

Seeking a skilled Network Engineer, who will be responsible for the engineering and operational activities for the campus and datacenter networks. This role will be expected to collaborate with other engineers and the Infrastructure Architect for project and operational designs. The Network Engineer is expected to be a self-starter who is comfortable prioritizing and effectively managing their daily workload. This position requires any successful candidate to be able to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve highly complex issues within the network.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Expert level experience in routing & switching, Wi-Fi and network packet brokers to design, implement, and support our datacenter and campus networks.Provide day to day operational support for Arista LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructureReviews network designs for an EVPN, VxLAN, leaf-spine architecture and make recommendations for deployment, upgrades, enhancements or improvements as requiredDeploying and maintaining Arista's NDR and AGNI Security solutionsDevelop and maintain a network infrastructure monitoring and alerting strategySupport interoperability between Arista and other networking solutions including Cisco and Palo AltoAssist with configuration buildouts including creating network provisioning automation using Python and tools such as Chef or AnsibleContinuously improving processes and documentation for network assetsParticipate in troubleshooting incidents and coordinate with vendor support as requiredBuild and maintain partnership with external vendors, including Arista TACTranslate complex business requirements and objectives into leaf-spine network solutionsContinues technology, security, and networking training to maintain expertiseSupporting business services by completing requests and resolving incidents in documented SLA timings; as well as following all change management processesEnsuring security solutions, policies, and procedures are sufficient to meet and respond to threats to our network infrastructureOther duties as assignedRequired Skills and Experience:
Network Industry Certification preferred Arista ACE 3 or aboveExpert working knowledge of CloudVisionExperience with Arista (preferably) or other commercial Wi-Fi platform10 years' working experience with network technologies including network design and deployments of Campus and Data Center networks.Expert knowledge of leaf-spine architecturesExpert knowledge in the following areas: Ethernet, VLANs, VxLAN, VPN, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IPsec, MACsec, Multicast, QoS, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and 802.1XExpertise in at least one area of Data Center related technologies - Openstack, SDN, NFV, Load Balancers, Virtualization, Linux toolsBackground in Perl, Python, Scripting for creating network automation is highly desiredExcellent customer service and verbal communication skillsExcellent written skills and desire to document network infrastructuresExperience with working in an ITIL or similar service operational environmentDesired Skills:
Palo Alto firewall experienceCitrix NetScaler or load balancing experienceZscaler Secure Private Access experienceNutanix Flow or virtual machine micro-segmentation experience preferredMicrosoft Azure networking knowledge a plusExperience working with a Network Access Control solutionEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred and 10 years' experience with technology organizations required. Strong working knowledge of Commonwealth of VA Information Security Standard (SEC530) preferred.

the individual's skill sets, experience and training;licensure and certification requirements;office location and other geographic considerations;other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
