Network Engineer

Seeking a skilled Network Engineer, who will be responsible for the engineering and operational activities for the campus and datacenter networks.
This role will be expected to collaborate with other engineers and the Infrastructure Architect for project and operational designs.
The Network Engineer is expected to be a self-starter who is comfortable prioritizing and effectively managing their daily workload.
This position requires any successful candidate to be able to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve highly complex issues within the network.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Expert level experience in routing & switching, Wi-Fi and network packet brokers to design, implement, and support our datacenter and campus networks.
Provide day to day operational support for Arista LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure
Reviews network designs for an EVPN, VxLAN, leaf-spine architecture and make recommendations for deployment, upgrades, enhancements or improvements as required
Deploying and maintaining Arista's NDR and AGNI Security solutions
Develop and maintain a network infrastructure monitoring and alerting strategy
Support interoperability between Arista and other networking solutions including Cisco and Palo Alto
Assist with configuration buildouts including creating network provisioning automation using Python and tools such as Chef or Ansible
Continuously improving processes and documentation for network assets
Participate in troubleshooting incidents and coordinate with vendor support as required
Build and maintain partnership with external vendors, including Arista TAC
Translate complex business requirements and objectives into leaf-spine network solutions
Continues technology, security, and networking training to maintain expertise
Supporting business services by completing requests and resolving incidents in documented SLA timings; as well as following all change management processes
Ensuring security solutions, policies, and procedures are sufficient to meet and respond to threats to our network infrastructure

Required Skills and Experience:
Network Industry Certification preferred Arista ACE 3 or above
Expert working knowledge of CloudVision
Experience with Arista (preferably) or other commercial Wi-Fi platform
10+ years' working experience with network technologies including network design and deployments of Campus and Data Center networks.
Expert knowledge of leaf-spine architectures
Expert knowledge in the following areas: Ethernet, VLANs, VxLAN, VPN, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IPsec, MACsec, Multicast, QoS, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and 802.1X
Expertise in at least one area of Data Center related technologies - Openstack, SDN, NFV, Load Balancers, Virtualization, Linux tools
Background in Perl, Python, Scripting for creating network automation is highly desired
Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
Excellent written skills and desire to document network infrastructures
Experience with working in an ITIL or similar service operational environment
Desired Skills:
Palo Alto firewall experience
Citrix NetScaler or load balancing experience
Zscaler Secure Private Access experience
Nutanix Flow or virtual machine micro-segmentation experience preferred
Microsoft Azure networking knowledge a plus
Experience working with a Network Access Control solution
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred and 10+ years’ experience with technology organizations required. Strong working knowledge of Commonwealth of VA Information Security Standard (SEC530) preferred.
