This position is part of the In-Space Systems (ISS) business unit and supports the Blue Ring program, which is focused on development, manufacturing, and operation of satellite systems to address one of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space mobility. As part of the Spacecraft Development team, you will be exposed to an environment that allows you to engage in rapid design/build iteration, work with a world-class team, and experience the full lifecycle from formulation to flight in a short time. Special Mentions Travel expected up to 15% of the time Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the development of mission specific kits Ensure that the development of advanced products in the Spacecraft Development organization supporting the In-Space Systems capability roadmap Establish best practices for the development of new technologies and capabilities Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers Act as the deputy for the Senior Director of Spacecraft Development Support trade studies across a diverse and wide-range of technical projects Support classified business capture efforts Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering, Physics, or an equivalent technical field 15+ years of experience in the aerospace/space industry 5 years in a technical leadership role Experience in the development of advanced spacecraft systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability and willingness to: Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Earn trust and to maintain positive and professional relationships Self-directed and capable of independently balancing/prioritizing several tasks at once Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Active TS/SCI Preferred Qualifications Deep technical knowledge in spacecraft telecommunication systems 20+ years of experience in the aerospace/space industry M.S. or PhD in a relevant technical field Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $203,122.50-$284,371.50 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
