SALARY RANGE: $140,000 - $230,000FLSA STATUS: ExemptSUMMARYEdge Autonomy is seeking an experienced UAS ground station software engineer to expand the capabilities of the Ground Control Station (GCS) that operates multiple edge autonomy aircraft. You will be writing code for the primary interface between the human user and the aircraft. It must be simple to use, mission focused, and assure flight safety. Your code will enable users to monitor health and status of the aircraft and manage vehicle flight paths to meet their mission objectives while balancing aircraft performance constraints, airspace constraints, dynamic weather conditions, datalink limitations, threat avoidance, and coordination with external entities.RESPONSIBILITIESThe following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.Design and write code to expand the capabilities of the Ground Control Station (GCS)Work on a small team that handles all aspects of Ground Station Development including the Graphical User Interface (GUI), algorithm development, and the communications interface to the aircraftCoordinate with operational users and the flight test team to respond to emerging operator needs and identify opportunities to expand the capabilities of the GCS software to reduce operator workload, increase mission success, and maximize flight safetyQUALIFICATIONSThe following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:Strong understanding of the requirements, architecture, and design features of UAS ground control stationsSignificant experience writing code for UAS Ground SystemsUnderstanding of UAS architectures and subsystemsUnderstanding of aircraft flight management including aircraft performance constraints and airspace constraints.Proficient writing code in object-oriented languages (e.g. C#/Java/C++)Strong sense of ownership and drive in digging into complex problemsUnderstanding of Human Factors design for UAS command and controlExperience building simple and elegant graphical user interfacesNetwork programming and understanding of the IP protocolExperience with GIS mapping enginesExperience building a System Integration Lab (SIL) or Hardware Integration Lab (HIL) for Unmanned AircraftExperience supporting flight testBachelor’s degree in engineering or similarMaster's degree in engineering preferredStrong understanding of the requirements, architecture, and design features of UAS ground control stationsEDGE AUTONOMY BENEFITSMatching 401(k)Paid PTOPaid holidaysMedical, vision, and dental insuranceGroup Short-Term & Long-Term DisabilityHSA and FSA OptionsCritical Care PlanAccident Care PlanHiring RequirementsIf an offer of employment offer is extended, applicant must have the ability to pass a background check and the ability to be insured by the Company’s Auto-policy.
