Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Patient Advocacy will be part of a growing patient advocacy organization working across several diseases to communicate the potential of Crinetics Pharmaceuticals ongoing clinical programs and its discovery and drug development platform. Additionally, this position develops productive partnerships and facilitates dialogue with patient advocacy organizations to further mutual interests and transform the care of patients, contributing to the vision and mission for patient advocacy within the company and communicate the patient perspective across levels and teams within Crinetics, including senior leadership.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
These may include but are not limited to:
Understand the mission and vision of each advocacy organization to develop and recognize how to work most effectively with these partners.
Serve as the primary point of contact to build and maintain collaborative, long-term partnerships with key global advocacy organizations.
Leverage relationship building and communications skillset to incorporate the patient voice across our corporate objectives
Contribute to innovative engagement strategies with patient and disease advocacy groups, the communities they serve, and internal stakeholders.
Lead and implement programs to inform and serve patients which Crinetics aspires to help, such as patient leadership councils, disease awareness initiatives, advisory boards, patient speaker engagements, clinical trial planning, and policy
Communicate and partner with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, clinical science, clinical operations, regulatory, commercial, and corporate communications
Assist with the coordination of Regulatory, Legal and Medical review of advocacy communications
Define and standardize best practices in advocacy relations; clearly understand the patient experience, design and create processes, systems, solutions, and tools that will contribute to the effectiveness and success of the patient advocacy plans.
Stay abreast of new developments in regulatory, legal, policy, and social media arenas that impact the function.
Generate appropriate budgets and monitor expenditures, revising spending as needed.
Provide periodic reports and analyses to team members as needed.
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree with 12 years' experience in the biotech/life-science, pharmaceutical or related industry (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills and an ability to summarize complex medical and scientific information using terms and concepts that are most relevant and appropriate for patient and advocate audiences across multiple channels, i.e. print and digital media
Understanding of patient advocacy landscape and regulatory bodies that impact communications.
Ability to champion the voice of patients and families
Ability to identify a path forward in ambiguous situations as well as to gain consensus amongst stakeholders with differing perspectives
Highest ethical standards and integrity
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and successfully manage multiple projects
Strong business acumen
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this job. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.

You may be required to travel for up to 30% of your time.
The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $144,000- $177,000
In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. We also provide top-notch health insurance plans for employees (and their families) to include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and a winter company shutdown.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education.
