Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Systems Software Analyst – Software Analyst (RA) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO. , or Huntsville, AL.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.

C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

In this role, you will be an Analyst on the C2BMC Analysis team. You will work with a small team of developers and testers to validate performance, functionality, and the verification of requirements applicable to the RA teams and proactively analyze test outputs to identify and report any anomalies. You will work with the RA teams to correct identified problems. You will work with program-level integration, Modeling & Simulations, and Test Engineering teams to identify scenarios that can validate functionality and system performance requirements.

Essential Functions:

Work within the missile defense domain, including engagement management, sensor management, algorithm development, etc.

Apply system engineering principles to develop product solutions.

Prior experience in C2BMC or other complex command and control systems as a SW engineer or systems analyst.

Document findings, COAs, and recommendations and present them to stakeholders.

Identify bugs, coordinate resolution, and SW build execution.

Work with Atlassian tools.

Provide data analysis of software tests for performance and functionality verification.

Work with very large data files.

Analyze output from complex algorithms to determine if they are operating correctly.

Basic Qualifications:

Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Applicants must have a current DoD issued Secret Security Clearance at the time of application which is required to start.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.

Data Analysis, Performance Assessment, Algorithms, XML.

Must understand systems and software engineering processes, principles, and lifecycles.

Direct experience in one or more of the following:

Pay Range:

Colorado - $97,500 - $146,300 / Alabama - $102,400 - $153,600

Salary Range:

$97,500 - $153,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
