The Work You Will Do:

This is an OPS GIS Community Liaison position in Tallahassee, Fl with FloridaCommerce working under the Office of Broadband within the Division of Community Development.

This position serves as the lead on StoryMapping within the Office of Broadband and the main resource for community assistance regarding GIS products released by the Office. This position works alongside other GIS professionals to create GIS products and solutions from design to release.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is an OPS GIS Community Liaison position in Tallahassee, FL with FloridaCommerce working under the Office of Broadband within the Division of Community Development.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Assists Broadband Communication Staff in communicating and coordinating GIS material approval from Agency Communications Staff. Completes/coordinates changes to GIS material as required by Office, Division, or Agency Communications Staff.Serves as lead on planning, design, implementation, and upkeep of ArcGIS StoryMaps.Design data ingestion processes and coordinate with Broadband grant sub-recipients to gather additional data related to StoryMapping.Collaborate with GIS Analysts to perform base level analysis related to Broadband activities.Assists with ArcGIS Hub tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, modifying content, providing basic HTML/CSS support, upkeep of published content, and managing hub centric processes.Serves as primary point of contact for Broadband GIS applications including assisting both internal and external parties.Performs special work assignments that require independent work as directed by GIS Coordinator.Works on projects as assigned to prepare reports for use by FloridaCommerce and partners in evaluating operations for related decision making.Collaborates with the greater GIS team to accomplish overarching projects and objectives.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge and experience using ArcGIS products, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Hub, ArcGIS StoryMapping, and ArcGIS Survery123 (connect).Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.Basic Knowledge of Geodatabase principles.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, courteous, and effective manner.Ability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced, work environment.Ability to organize, prioritize work assignments, and effectively manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision.Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE APPLICANTS THAT HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree or related experience in geography, or related field.At least one year of experience working with Esri ArcGIS Software.Local/State government experience is a plus.
