Job Description

Insight Global's Fortune 500 client is seeking a data steward who will join their stewardship community and support them in creating the future of their data landscape, collaborating with cross-functional teams and championing a data-driven culture. The data steward will be responsible for governing and managing our data assets using established tools and processes and ensuring the overall fitness of their data. This specific team handles all consumer and first party data so an understanding of privacy, consent, documentation, and overall understanding of this area of data is vital to this role.

What you will do

Support in strategy development in operating data governance practices across your business domain. Champion and monitor data governance policy compliance, ensuring data is treated as a strategic enterprise asset.

Support or conduct training sessions with peers on data governance and management principles and practices to support our data transformation and upskilling our organization.

Utilize data management expertise to support data projects to enable teams to derive meaningful insights to drive the business with data.

Develop and standardize enterprise-wide definitions for business terms, data elements, KPIs and metrics. Maintain and update data dictionaries and our data catalog ensuring data assets are well-document and easily accessible.

Partner with engineering leads and architects to deliver data dictionaries and data flows to ensure data is stored and shared appropriately.

Work with internal and external data producers to acquire data for processing and ensure all data entering our landscape is properly governed

Develop data quality rules and monitor to ensure data is fit-for-purpose and available to run business processes. Escalate data issues and exceptions by partnering with business partners and technology.

Review and approve data access and sharing requests as part of strategy to make data-driven decisions while protecting our data.

Work with downstream consumers to create data products for further consumption.

Ensure data practices in your domain adhere to all regulations including privacy and security

This position is onsite 2 days a week in either their Piscataway, NJ or Park Ave NY, NY locations. This is a great opportunity to help build something from scratch and leave your mark on an organization that will utilize these systems for years to come.

Skills and Requirements

5-6+ years of experience

Strong experience with first party and consumer data

Experience with data catalogs, data management, and the data life cycle

Any data catalog (Atlan, Alation, Informatica, Atlas, etc.)

Basic SQL

Bachelor's degree - Experience as a data product owner

Data quality experience

Marketing automation experience null
