Job Description

The Principal Quality Assurance Analyst manages processes, tools, metrics and directs activities and resources to conduct quality assurance testing to include software development within ITS. Manages all quality related activities that includes all functional test activities, planning, process improvement, root cause analysis, debugging and reporting. This individual ensures that the many systems that the ITS must support and manage are delivered and managed with high quality.

The Principal Quality Assurance Analyst develops effective and efficient methods, maintains documentation throughout the QA process, and communicates with development and functional team members to provide a reliable, consistent, and positive end user experience. Conducts rigorous testing throughout the development process, identifying potential issues and reporting them back to development teams. In some cases, may be responsible for developing and implementing fixes and improvements. Additionally, works with others in the organization to deploy updates and resolve issues that arise during the QA process.

Works with a team of business analysts, developers, project managers/scrum masters and contractors to coordinate all levels of testing, release planning and deployments and communicate progress & status accordingly.

Role-Specific Competencies:

Working knowledge of quality assurance concepts and current tools/frameworks and methodologies.

Ability to develop a testing strategy that is customized and optimized for the current situation and effectively communicate it to stakeholders.

Experience with Systems Analysis Design and Development.

Ability to collaborate with the DevOps and the software development teams to support the best practices of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).

Technical skills - Databases: SQl, MySQL, PL/SQL, MongoDB; Applications: MS Visio, JIRA, HP ALM; Testing types: API, UAT, Functional, Regression, Integration; Web Development: typescript, JAVA, jQuery, HTML, CSS, JS, XML Testing tools: Selenium, Postman, Katalon, Playwright.

Project skills / experience - Development Models: Waterfall, Agile – Scrum, Kanban; Experience with implementing large scale, complex systems and multi-tier, modern software applications.

Ability to collaborate and communicate with others and demonstrate a customer-focused orientation.Well-versed in the interdependencies of enterprise applications.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $121,200 to $151,500; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule up to 2 days remote with 3 days in the office at the discretion of management (not a fully remote option).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance and systems analysis roles.

Experience and background in systems analysis, requirements gathering and managing, design and support.

Experience working on large scale, complex systems development, testing and roll out which requires the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and autonomously.

Experience with testing methodologies, practices, standards and tools/technology.

Technical skills required (dbase query languages, automated testing tools, web development languages and protocols.

Proven track record of continuous process improvement.

Experience in leadership/mentor capacity to guide teams to best practices as well as providing ongoing training and support.

Must be available to work additional hours as needed.
