POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transport Maintenance Operations Manager oversees MPC’s transport maintenance operations, managing both proprietary and third-party garages. The Transport Maintenance Operations Manager is responsible for the following:
Supports the strategic and daily activities of MPC’s transport maintenance operations, including the oversight of multiple geographically separated proprietary garages and multiple third-party maintenance garages.
Direct management, alignment and development of regional service center supervisors.
Promotes standardization of best practices across MPC and third-party maintenance garages.
Outlines maintenance cost reduction strategy, distributes regular forecast models, and looks for areas to reduce company spending.
Manage complex data effectively and take accountability for P&L by creating budgets, approving expenses, and overseeing Service Center audits.
Manages parts purchasing, inventory control and warranty coverage programs.
Determines end-of-life criteria by tracking life cycles of assets and pieces of equipment.
Creates and fosters good working relationships with drivers, mechanics, operations leaders, third-party service providers, and other company partners.
Utilizes internal systems to monitor service failures and equipment downtime as well as deciding to expedite priorities.
Continues to develop maintenance repair programs aimed at lowering BASIC/FMCSA/DOT scores.
Assures equipment is permitted, licensed, and registered according to Federal, State and Local governments.
Drives service standards (KPIs) that improve maintenance quality and reduce liability.
Manages facility maintenance and projects associated with new truck terminals or maintenance facilities and any site demobilizations or closures.
Champions positive change in field maintenance activities driving efficiency, a strong culture and data-driven decision making.
Promotes safe work practices and enforces safety policies among service center employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Seven (7) years of leadership experience in industrial, oil and gas or heavy equipment/truck repair
A valid driver's license is required
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in asset maintenance planning and execution
Demonstrates aptitude for leading leaders of hourly employees
General understanding of DOT, Federal, State, and local regulations governing maintenance operations
LOCATION:
Findlay & San Antonio preferred; other MPC locations will be considered
TRAVEL:
50%-75% required
