Senior Project Manager II - Cedar Rapids, IA

Reporting to the Capex Regional Manager, this is a salaried, exempt-level position with oversite for capital projects primarily in our Cedar Rapids, IA Corn Processing Facility, and with the possibility of assignment to other projects within the region.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will partner with the business areas and (key) cross functional ADM stakeholders to manage expectations for project scope, schedule and budget.

This individual will facilitate buy in for project implementations while collaborating with a team of professionals to execute on various project initiatives as well as lead other initiatives.

In this role, you will ensure high-quality work for projects up to 20 million dollars with high cost improvement and critical infrastructure impact and significance.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting and driving contractor safety through the use of preventative action plans and safety metrics

Assure that the safety and reliability of existing equipment is maintained during project implementation

Define project scope and plan the delivery of projects according a roles & responsibility matrix. Execute the project, including costing and implementation according the Front End Loading(FEL) guidelines

Project site field reviews during development and execution to understand potential clashes in order to develop mitigation plans to maintain budget and schedule. Potentially 20% travel if assigned to projects outside of Cedar Rapids

Assuring monthly project reporting to the stakeholders through FEL, execution, commissioning, and capitalization and closure

Scope change and risk management escalation processes

Complying with local legislation and ADM requirements for permitting, safety legislation, quality assurance, HACCP, GMP, Hazop as well as TPS policy

Coordinate the team development of all necessary documentation for commissioning, training, maintenance and maintain all records required by legislation and policies

Coordinate and provide direction to contractual partners for project execution including the use of a well maintained work breakdown structure

Setting up project structure and coordination with project steering committee according project governance guidelines

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field

Minimum of 10 years managing several industrial projects of low to high complexity ranging in size from 5 to 20 million USD or equivalent experience

Experience with cost engineering and key performance indicators

Experience with industrial process project planning and scheduling with multi-craft trades

Experience with industrial process project commissioning means and methods

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Primavera or other resource loaded scheduling tools.

Experience using interpersonal English fluency communication skills effectively, written and verbal

Ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP Certification or willingness to obtain the PMP

Ability to work with 3rd party design firms executing under a variety of contractual methodologies

Experience with execution of multi-year projects utilizing multidiscipline teams

Experience with execution on revamp and brownfield projects or related experience

Experience with stage gate project execution
