Job Description
Internal Communications Manager duties and responsibilities:
THIS IS A VOLUNTEER UNPAID POSITIONCreate and implement enterprise-wide and audience-specific communications primarily for spanning various topics and align the messages to our growth strategy, ambition, and values.Drive the continuous improvement of internal contentUpdate and maintain Passion for Life's intranetProvide communications counsel to Passion for Life team leaders and key stakeholdersRecommend and implement new and innovative communication methodsActively contribute fresh, outside-in thinking to ways we build awareness and understanding of Passion for Life organizational information.Improve volunteer connectivity and engagementQualifications
Internal Communications requirements
Associates degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field3-5 years experience in one or more of the following areas; managing/writing at an agency or in a corporate/nonprofit environment, content development, public relationsProficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)Copy writing and content management experienceLeading, collaborating with, and managing a teamSelf-starter willing to take initiative and own projectsDemonstrates effectiveness in meetings and task forcesAbility to interface with all levels of the organization (both internal and external)Excellent storytelling, written and verbal communication skillsEffective project management and time management skills are criticalEnsure fulfillment of the mission of the organizationPreferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related fieldExperience in content marketing for a non-profit organizationKnowledge of web designAdditional Information
Estimated time commitment
Relaunching a brand and marketing strategy from the bottom up is a daunting, but rewarding, task that demands a lot of upfront time investment. With that in mind, the ideal candidate will be willing to not only meet the required time commitments outlined below but will also communicate, without hesitation, if the scope of work exceeds the estimated time allotted. Open and honest communication will be essential to help us grow a successful and sustainable marketing team and resources we need.
Estimated time commitment: 8-10 hours/week depending on needs, includingMonthly meetingsWeekly conference callsBusiest period: work is consistent throughout the school year
Term limit:
6-12 month commitment
