How You'll Perform the Role
HR Generalist supports the HR department in managing the full employee life cycle activities with a primary focus on recruitment and staffing, employee relations, and compliance & regulatory reporting as well as maintenance of HR records. This role also assists the HR Manager with implementing HR initiatives and programs.
Principal Job Duties
Monitor and oversee all recruitment-related activities including, but not limited to; posting/communicating open positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, updating job descriptions, etc.Conduct orientation and manage the onboarding process for newly hired employees.Assist employees with day-to-day inquiries pertaining to HR-related mattersLead and support HR projects as assignedUpdate and maintain various HR information systems and prepare reportsTrack, analyze, and compile reports on HR metricsAssist the HR Manager in managing employee relationsParticipate in staff meetings and be visible/accessible to staff on the shop floorParticipate in organizing and coordinating employee engagement initiativesCreate and update organizational charts and job descriptionsPropose, and help implement, improvements to policies and proceduresResolve minor employee issuesOther duties as may be assignedWhat We Need From You
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources, or equivalent work experienceMinimum 2-4+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturingProficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Strong verbal and written communication skills in EnglishTeam player with the ability to build lasting productive business relationships with hourly employees, management, and peersMust possess a high degree of professionalism in handling confidential informationStrong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentExperience working in a unionized environment is preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and auditing skills requiredExperience in Workforce Now, ADP, SAP, or other integrated enterprise systems.
