One of Chicago's best employers in the technology space seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer.SummaryThe Quality Engineer role provides support to ensure the overall quality of parts, product and the manufacturing process, as well as ensuring the customer requirements and expectations are met.The Quality Engineer is also responsible to collect, report and track quality data and metrics, provide analysis results of those as well as ensure cross functional teamwork to resolve and address the main drivers on the issues. It acts as a liaison for the Quality Management System by representing the Quality Organization at every step of the work that is performed within the organization.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the creation, reporting and tracking of manufacturing quality data (QA Reports).Oversee and provide reporting of designated quality initiatives and indicators.Responsible for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem solving of Quality issues or concerns in the manufacturing floor.Provide management of daily quality activities including receiving, in-process, sub-assembly and finished goods inspection, new product conformity review, product returns and repair requests.Ensure closure of corrective actions, verification and effectiveness.Support the Quality Manager/Supervisor in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System.Responsible to release and validate the introduction of new products to the manufacturing areas. Requires interacting with multidisciplinary teams, including but not limited to: Engineering (R&D), Supply Chain, Production, Supplier, Customer, etc.Responsible to provide guidance, training, and support to the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.Supports the Compliance and Regulatory department by conducting audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions (FRACAS).Responsible to analyze defective product or material as well as customer returns and provide corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.Responsible for implementing and complying with all ethical and legal compliance requirements.Working knowledge of ISO/9001/14000/13485 and AS9100 processes.Required:Associates degree with +3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Design and Process FMEA.Quality Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, Control Plans and Process Flow.Problem Solving: Ishikawa, 5W - 1H, Failure Tree AnalysisDemonstrated experience in production and material controlExperience in high complexity, high mix and low volume production environment.Statistical Process Control and Process Validation/VerificationExperience interacting with customers, suppliers and senior managementExperience in Project/Program ManagementDesign related software: SolidWorks, ProEngineer (ProE), AutoCAD,Six sigma certification: Green belt or higherCQE/ASQ Certification
