Position Summary:
Growing industrial company seeking an experienced Controller with a robust background in job costing to lead our accounting function.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10-15 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, and a proven track record of working within industrial or manufacturing environments. This role is key in driving financial integrity, managing cost accounting, and overseeing budget control and reporting functions.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Lead financial operations, including month-end and year-end closing processes, budget preparation, and annual audits.
Develop and manage financial policies, systems, and controls to ensure accurate reporting and financial integrity.
Provide insights and analysis on financial performance, focusing on profit improvement and cost management.
Job Costing & Project Analysis:
Oversee and refine the job costing process to accurately allocate expenses and monitor cost drivers.
Partner with project managers and operations teams to track and analyze project costs and profitability.
Drive cost control initiatives by analyzing cost variances and implementing corrective actions.
Leadership & Team Development:
Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and enhance financial reporting.
Act as a financial advisor to senior management on critical financial matters and strategic decisions.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Oversee internal controls, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets.
Coordinate with external auditors and support audit activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong expertise in job costing, with a solid understanding of cost drivers within industrial or manufacturing environments.
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
