Job Title: Controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing facility. The Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the success and profitability of our plant operations.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Develop and manage the plant's annual budget, forecasts, and strategic financial plans. Analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.

Cost Accounting:

Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, and optimize profitability.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.

Internal Controls:

Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and mitigate financial risks. Conduct periodic audits and assessments to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Inventory Management:

Manage inventory levels, valuation, and reconciliation. Work closely with operations and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.

Capital Expenditure Management:

Evaluate and prioritize capital expenditure projects based on ROI analysis and strategic priorities. Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with financial goals.

Team Leadership:

Lead and develop the plant accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to foster professional growth and development. Ensure a high level of performance and accountability within the team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and inventory management.

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
