Purpose of PositionThe Advanced Manufacturing Quality Engineer (AMQE) is responsible for planning, analyzing, implementing, and evaluating continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes to support Quality Engineering. This role includes overseeing advanced manufacturing initiatives for new program launches, ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards, and optimizing production efficiency. The AMQE will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to improve quality processes, conduct audits, and resolve quality issues to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards. Extensive knowledge and experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), manufacturing processes, and AS9100 environments are essential.Principal AccountabilitiesSupplier Evaluation and Selection:Evaluate and select suppliers based on their capability to meet quality and manufacturing requirements.Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.Quality Assurance and Control:Develop and implement manufacturing quality assurance programs.Monitor and analyze manufacturing performance metrics and quality data.Ensure that supplied materials and components meet company and industry standards.Advanced Manufacturing Planning:Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product introductions.Develop and maintain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and manufacturing requirements are integrated into the design and development process.Perform Capability Studies on manufacturing equipment and work to improve machine efficiency with Manufacturing Engineering.Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement:Investigate and resolve manufacturing and supplier quality issues and non-conformances.Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality and manufacturing problems.Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing process efficiency.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, procurement) to address quality and manufacturing issues and improve supplier and product performance.Communicate quality and manufacturing requirements and expectations to suppliers and internal stakeholders.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of supplier audits, quality assessments, and manufacturing performance metrics.Prepare and present reports on supplier and product quality performance and improvement initiatives.Compliance and Standards:Ensure supplier and product compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in quality and manufacturing management.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering, advanced quality engineering, or a related role. Extensive experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and manufacturing experience in an AS9100 environment are essential.Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant certifications preferred.Must be a US CitizenSkills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of quality and manufacturing management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).Extensive experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Proficient in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Statistical Process Control, Root Cause Analysis, APQP, PPAP).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.About the companyWe are a vertically integrated manufacturing company working together to bring our customer's life changing products to market, one day sooner.
