This critical role serves as a bridge between Human Resources and managers/employees in administering policies, procedures, and programs. This person will take on the day-to-day responsibilities of recruiting, employee relations, employee programs, administrative duties, and other Human Resource projects where additional support is needed.
What You Will Do:
Provide Human Resources advice and consultation to employees and leadership, including coaching and counseling on performance management issues, conflict management, interpretation of employment policies and resolution of employee disputes and grievances
Act as a liaison between leadership and employees, as appropriate, to resolve conflicts and employee concerns
Implement, disseminate, and monitor corporate policies and procedures
Participate in the delivery of escalated disciplinary and corrective action
Conduct investigations related to harassment, discrimination, and other types of employment issues under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager
Oversee and administer Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence (LOA) programs
Gather information for unemployment claims and work with the Legal department on response and appeal hearings, as necessary
Conduct exit interviews for terminating employees
Review and analyze exit interview data, report trends, and provide recommendations to the Human Resources Manager
Assist with the identification of training, development, recruitment, and retention needs
Collaborate and assist with department projects, ideas, and initiatives as required
Efficiently and effectively assist in filling open positions for seasonal and temporary positions
Assist in interviewing and selecting employees for internal positions
Work with staffing agencies and leadership to coordinate temporary staffing needs and staffing concerns
Conduct reference checks and coordinate background checks and drug screens on all selected candidates
Reconcile and submit staffing invoices for payment
Conduct new employee orientation and manage the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork
Coordinate the entry of human resource and payroll data, new hire paperwork, and performance appraisal forms
Assist employees with enrollment in payroll system and benefits
Create and maintain employee files
We're Looking For:
2-4 years of experience as a Human Resource Generalist or Human Resources Manager
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, related field, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) preferred
Knowledge of both federal and state employment and benefits laws
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally, and in writing
Ability to resolve conflict and gain cooperation
Ability to learn, recognize, and know the names of employees
Ability to act quickly to change and work well under pressure
Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and procedures
Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines
Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
Demonstrative effective time management
Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and recruiting tools a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
