Position Summary:The Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of both internal and external communication strategies. The Manager's duties include managing external communication channels like social media platforms, school website and media relations, writing copy for school newsletters or memos and adhering to the school's brand by publishing content and marketing materials.The Communications Manager is also responsible for standardizing and improving the communication efforts of the school. The Communications Manager will have a strong set of written, verbal and digital communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities. This person should be comfortable working on and delivering messages through a variety of platforms.Communications ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with administrative and academic teams to identify the public voice of our brandCreate style guidelines and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, and advertisingConsult with the senior leadership team to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations and crisesDraft press releases following organizational newsDevelop and implement effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction.Write letters, interdepartmental memos and other email correspondenceCommunicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kitsDevelop materials to educate staff on communication practicesPerform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategiesDevelop strategies that engage the community (school leadership, parents, faculty, advisory boards, students, alumni, etc.) in effectively communicating the school's message to help achieve enrollment and retention goalsIdeal Candidate:Professional marketing/communications background, preferably 3-5 years relevant experienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant fieldProficiency with Google Analytics, and other programs to measure resultsWebsite management experienceUnderstanding and appreciation of marketing best practices in today's worldExpertise with Social & Digital Media, Advertising/Underwriting, SEO, and PRExcellent communication skillsHe/she will possess sound creative judgment, and deliver effective communications programs that will increase the quality of schools' messaging and communications while driving awareness, relevance, and competitive differentiation.
