Oncology Research AssociateCambridge, MA- ON SITE12+ month W2 contract (with potential to transition to perm)Pay rate: $30-36/hour - Depending on Education and Experience
Summary:Work in oncology research within a multi disciplinary group to identify/validate novel targets and to develop/advance new chemical entities towards the clinic.

Responsibilities:
Perform mammalian cell culture and proliferation/viability assaysPerform RNA/DNA and protein extraction from cell lines (including sample preparation for downstream applications)Design and execute RT-qPCR protocolsRoutinely run Western blotting / simple WES experimentsUse CRISPR technology to engineer cell linesDesign and conduct molecular and cellular biology experiments for compound screening or mechanistic pathway analysis using automationWork closely with senior/principal scientist and biology/chemistry group leaders to design, develop, and execute experiment protocolsRecord all data and results in specified forms (both electronic and paper) with accuracy and timeliness and in presentable fashionUpload biology data into company databaseEnsure that all safety guidelines are strictly followed at all times and maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Skills or Requirements:
B.A., B.Sc., or M.Sc. preferred with 5+ years laboratory experienceExperience in tissue culture of cancer cells is requiredBasic laboratory skills in molecular and cell biology is essential and experience working with small molecules in a drug discovery setting is highly desirableAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment on an interdisciplinary teamMust have excellent written, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to prioritize assigned work in order to meet regular timelines
