ASM GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for the Sr. Director of Security position at ASM GLOBAL Oakland Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. This position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager.
JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Director of Security is responsible for the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum and Oakland Arena security operations for ASM Oakland, including but not limited to, anti-terrorism, risk management, loss prevention, safety, training, investigations and intelligence, budgeting, emergency preparedness, disaster prevention, and personnel management. This individual will oversee the day-to-day security operations of the facility.
Annual Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $168,000.00.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Lead and oversee the Security department. Establish annual objectives for all reporting personnel. Implement and ensure compliance with department objectives and policies.
• Secure and maintain safety of our guests, clients, employees, and assets at all times. Analyzes recommendations on security systems and practices, including emerging technologies.
• Oversees staffing plans to ensure a safe and courteous experience for our guests and clients. Recommends strategies to balances clients’ wants with guests needs and venue’s objectives. Reviews staffing estimates to balance high level service delivery with efficiencies for cost savings and fiscal responsibilities.
• Effectively manage the department, providing necessary leadership, training, support and guidance. Creates and maintains talent pipelines for succession planning.
• In collaboration with the Assistant General Manager, plans, submits, and oversees both department expenditures and capital expenditure proposals. Proactively submits supporting documentation. Ensures department expenses are allocated appropriately and works with department director to keep expenses within operating budgets and event estimates.
• Act as a Building Manager on Duty for Oakland Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum events. Oversee event logistics ensuring priorities in decision-making are based on safety. Respond immediately in the event of an emergency to make key decisions and communicate with staff in emergency situations.
• Plan, lead, and participate in operational meetings to best communicate with other departments, entities, and clients to accomplish venue-wide goals and objectives.
• Responsible for identifying security service vendors, negotiating contracts, and implementing new systems and procedures; Champion, communicate and take ownership of the security strategy and success in the venue. Represent the venue in campus meetings. Establish positive and collaborate relationships with customers, vendors, local and state government officials.
• Responsible for championing the awareness and influencing compliance with security and safety policies and providing solutions for business specific security issues. Monitor and assess threats and the impact and possible losses and develop security procedures to mitigate and reduce these losses.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
A minimum of 15 years of security management experience Experience handling sensitive information and intelligence. Thorough knowledge of CCTV, computerized access control systems, and wireless radio communication. Experience with or knowledge of security-related legislation and regulation. Ability to work with the public effectively, tactfully and safely. Ability to effectively manage, motivate and lead members of the security team. Ability to effectively manage crises and work under pressure.

Perform work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.
Able to balance and have good manual dexterity.
Work inside and outside of buildings.
Experience exposure to adverse conditions such as weather and loud noises.
May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present which will require ability to use respirator and/or other PPE.
