In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. The Position
Support all aspects of warehousing requirements for the site regarding the General Warehouse, Hazardous Storage, Cold Storage, functioning as part of a high-performance work team. In addition to cold storage & general warehouse, must be able to perform duties in all the following areas: SAP/ERP Inventory Control to include Material Put-away. Must be able to maintain inventory records, rectify errors & prepare balance/shortage reports as required.

Essential Functions
Oversee the process of handling operations for hazardous, ambient, +5c, and -20c materials in various configurations such as drums, pallets, and IBCs. This includes operating a desktop computer and RFT (scan gun transactions) within the SAP module for tasks like receiving, printing labels, labeling, storage, retrieval, and delivery
Responsible for receipt, handling, labeling, storage, and shipping of GMP non-hazardous and hazardous materials occupying up to 40,000 sq. feet of warehouse space inclusive of Class 1 Division 2 items stored in Ambient, +5C and -20C areas while being involved in correspondence between Novo Nordisk & Freight Forwarders to expedite Custom’s Clearance processes
Partner with warehouse sampling operations in completion of tasks as appropriate i.e. CNC room cleaning and preparation, pulling and staging for sampling, etc
Monitor and assist with Inventory control of all warehouse materials to include stock put-away & retrieval. Physical inventory of EJ Warehouse and assigned production track areas including cycle counts and year-end inventory
System knowledge in SAP/ERP: Utilization of system transactions to perform receipt, put away issuance and material transfer
Material requisitions & staging area replenishment for production track buildings
Process material handling operations for hazardous materials in drum, pallet, and IBC configurations
Partner with warehouse sampling operations in completion of tasks as appropriate i.e. including CNC room cleaning, pulling and staging materials
Perform daily inspections of material handling equipment, facilities, and remote storage locations
Perform designated warehouse cleanings and document in electronic logbook system
Delivery/Pick-up of packages and mail daily to and from site clayton locations
Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May required corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Handles transport of hazardous materials. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Requires a valid driver’s license to operate non CDL company box truck.
Qualifications
High School Diploma (GED) required
Associate’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited university or advanced training in Warehousing & Logistics from ASCM preferred
Minimum of six (6) months of warehousing or manufacturing experience or equivalent, preferably in a Regulatory Inspected Facility, GMP warehouse or pharmaceutical industry required
Basic math skills including knowledge of metric system required
Computer competencies required, including basic Microsoft knowledge: Outlook & Word preferred
Knowledge of SAP/ERP to include entry level Warehouse tasks preferred
Good written & verbal communication skills preferred
Ability to read, write legibly, & understand all department documentation required
Training or experience demonstrating an understanding of risks inherent to processing, handling, & storage of hazardous materials required
Ability to operate stand-up & sit-down forklifts after applicable training & maintain appropriate licensure preferred
Proficient in all of the following areas: Issue Approved Materials (to scheduled production batches & processing of returns & rejects of materials from scheduled production batches), material storage, labeling & inspection of incoming raw materials, maintain monthly & annual files as needed to support cGMP’s, removing & disposing of expired materials, offsite warehouse (be familiar with all aspects of the operation of the offsite warehouse) a plus
Ability to drive non-CDL box truck or similar vehicle for movement of materials on site required
Demonstrate good organizational skills, ability to execute a work plan, adapt to changes in the schedule rapidly, be self-motivated, & able to work with little direct supervision preferred
