Summary Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligencedivision is seeking a Quality Intern for our North Kingstown, RI location.Our interns play an integral role in the success of Hexagon and gain comprehensive insight into the exciting world of Metrology. The Quality team works to maximize customer satisfaction and Hexagon profitability through the development, management, and continuous improvement of the business. The Quality Intern, as part of the Quality team, is an integral part of the organization's quality improvement efforts. The Quality Intern ensures safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures.The Quality Intern works on continuous improvement activities and certification systems in conformance with ISO programs. The Quality Intern performs assists in the review of Components, Subassemblies, and products to ensure conformance to Engineering and Quality requirements and will work together with cross functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions for any non-conformances in material or workmanship of our products and processes. This position is responsible for supporting efforts to reduce or eliminate defects and improve quality of products and processes. Job Responsibilities Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities that positively affect safety, the environment, quality, reliability, and productivity or improve the overall suitability and effectiveness of the management system, its processes, and products. Assists teams with root cause and continuous improvement efforts to improve both product and process quality. Assists the Quality Manager in implementing and maintaining the quality systems. Works with various teams to implement design changes. Ensures that products and processes comply with the requirements of the quality system. Assists operations in the timely resolution of non-conforming products. Conducts inspections using hand measurement devices as well as CMM's. Required to incorporate clean work practices in daily working routine. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Actively pursuing a BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial) Experience working in a factory setting preferred. Experience with MS Office Suite Experience in coming inspection techniques, blueprint reading and GD&T a plus Comfortable with hands-on laboratory/factor environment Ability to work Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week during the summer break AtHexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, our spirited energy and engagement are evident in our commitment to our work, passion for what we do and the speed at which we achieve it.
