The Commercial Controller is a key role within the US Kedrion Bio Pharma (KBI) business providing management reporting, Financial controls, business partnering, planning & analysis for the company’s Net Sales including all elements of the gross to net such as rebates, chargebacks & distribution fees.

He/she will be the key point of contact within KBI Finance in relation to Net Sales & also be the key business partner to external third-party pricing and rebate consultant. He/she will deliver high quality Net Sales financial planning (including supporting cash forecasting) and analysis services to the FP&A Director (US), Group FP&A in Italy and to the wider KBI Leadership Team to enable the company to make sound financial decisions that will improve the company’s financial performance.

The Commercial Controller role will also maintain responsibility for reporting & forecasting Kedrion Biopharma Net sales & Gross Margin results with specific attention to month-end, quarterly, year-end, forecasting and budget time.

The Commercial Controller reports into the FP&A Director (US) and is tasked with delivering key finance objectives within his/her area, working alongside KBI FP&A Manager, Melville Plant Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, Senior Manager Treasury & KBI Sales Director in a matrix Finance team structure.

Responsibilities:

Manage overall sales flow to meet revenue recognition rules and principles.

Develop and lead monthly review process with Sales Department: pricing deductions and disputes on end user pricing, gross to net analysis.

Lead the monthly forecast and close process for all commercial Sales activities.

Identify and research monthly variances prior to forecast, budget, and prior year, proactively identifying opportunities.

Partner with Sales Operations to understand ASP, margin and OPEX opportunities and risks.

Ownership of chargeback reporting and pricing in collaboration with Accounts Receivables and the Commercial Pricing Analyst.

Track and follow contracts through pricing changes, Early Pay Discounts, Chargebacks, Government pricing (Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare programs), Distributor Fees, Rebates, Data Fees and GPO Fees and/or milestone changes that affect financial commitments in collaboration with the Sales Department and the Commercial Business Intelligence function.

Pricing review related to customers (approved and denied deductions, paid, and denied chargebacks).

Price checks to communicate to third-party service provider for amendments.

Be the first point of contact with third-party service for all KBI queries.

Review and validate payment requests received from third-party service provider, approve validated payment requests and transfer requests to Treasury Department for payment processing.

Coordinate with internal and third-party data organizations and facilitate data management.

Monthly review of distributor pricing and customer pricing.

Run revenue controlling approvals in CLM / contract management system.

Sales and distribution contract updates to send to third-party service provider.

Maintain all primary sales data by managing the databases in-place: Data Mart and KEPA Sales Analytics, and within any future ERP and business intelligence systems.

Management of the Early Pay Discounts, Chargebacks, Distributor Fees, Rebates, Data Fees and GPO Fees and their payouts related to customers, distributors, and any thirds.

Support Sales Business Intelligence in Government pricing (Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare programs) – monthly and quarterly submissions certification (AMP, BP, Pricing) and close cooperation with third-party service provider giving support to Government pricing.

Gross to net analysis, calculations and forecast management using KEPA Sales Analytics.

Preparation of Early Pay Discount calculations, Chargeback Accruals, Medicaid, Medicare and Tricare program accruals, Distributor Fee, Data Fee, GPO Fee, and Rebate accruals.

Research and root cause analysis on deductions on Medicaid, Tricare, and Medicare programs.

Advise and support Sales pricing meetings to reach decision making.

Review and approve sales incentive bonus calculations.

Partner with Managers to deliver robust short- and long-term revenue forecasts, scenarios, simulations, and sensitivity analysis.

Oversee invoice and payment reconciliation processes in Finance team.

Management of any new revenue controlling (or contracting) system including importing and creating new contracts, auditing of the system and contract performance auditing.

Prepare presentations and other supporting materials for decision makers.

Partner with Local and Global Controlling manager to deliver robust short- and long-term revenue forecasts, scenarios, and simulations.

Partner with VP of Business Intelligence and Commercial Excellence & Analytics to ensure collaboration across roles and correct data flow in between stakeholders.

Streamline and automate data sources using best practices based on industry knowledge.

Gross to Net and Controlling Data Management

Owner of the Gross to Net process & model

Contribute to the development, maintenance and enhancement of the current sales database providing overall business knowledge to projects and support.

Document processes and mentor other staff on the systems as needed.

Participate with other stakeholders in any current or future system testing and help identify conflicting business practices and integration issues, suggesting alternative solutions.

Analyze new data sources for integration into Data Mart / KEPA Sales Analytics -- structured/semi-structured and unstructured data from various sources in support of the electronic commercial tools and other related systems.

Work with KEPA teams to ensure control objectives are implemented for all data movement processes, implement change control for production data establish and follow proper incident management procedures.

Ensure compliance with all applicable data privacy regulations and policies as they relate to both firm and client/contact data.

Responsible for driving process and capability design decisions for the entire lifecycle of the data in collaboration with others.

Assist with development of master data management roadmaps, processes, data standards, evaluating current and future state.

Work in a highly collaborative mode with other data owners to ensure that any additions or changes to data design for our systems are well understood and managed.

Coordinate with internal and third-party data organizations to facilitate data management.

Foster and maintain good relationships with colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Admisintration or Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. MBA or continued education a plus.

5+ years of work experience in similiar financial analysis or data analysis with at least 2 years in a role as the subject matter expert within Gross to Net Commercial within Pharma industry

Prior work experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is a must

Able to quickly understand and apply business judgment to evolving business processes and data requirements.

Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.

Ability to configure and analyze complex data sets and provide appropriate recommendations to management teams.

High level of efficiency in Excel spreadsheets

Ability to work independently and within a matrixed organization.

Excellent data analysis skills.

Skills to perform research, root cause analysis and pro-active data monitoring (for Master data and Contracts compliance) to report and fix data quality issues

Experience integrating technologies or systems with both internal and external data sources.

Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.

Candidate should be passionate about master data and governance in order to drive and advocate for improved customer master data management and governance maturity.

Candidate should have working knowledge of master data management, functional knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality processes, and accompanying technology.

The position requires broad knowledge of data sources, data integration and data flow as well as a high degree of creativity and latitude, working at an in-depth level within a business area.

Please note that the annual base salary for this role will be in the $100ks. Final salary offered will be based on: relevant experience, education and certifications.
