About the role:

KalVista seeks a dynamic and experienced Director, Commercial Finance to serve as the finance partner to the commercial organization while working closely with our accounting and FP&A teams. In this vital role, you will support all financial aspects in the Commercial function with a primary focus on reporting results, budgeting/forecasting, 3rd-party vendor accruals, financial modelling, incentive compensation and analytical & strategic support.

Reporting to Vice President, Finance, you will also provide your expertise and support for corporate FP&A deliverables, integrating seamlessly with KalVista's internal reporting and planning processes. Key responsibilities in this facet include monthly reporting, quarterly forecast updates, annual budget and long range-planning. Additionally, this role will assist with analyzing pricing strategies and financial processes related to government contracts and reimbursements.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the finance partner to the Commercial organization, which includes Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Strategy, Analytics and Operations Participate in all aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis for the Commercial area including but not limited to: budgeting, forecasting, latest estimates, multi-year forecasting, financial reviews for actuals to budget and forecast, ad hoc analysis, incentive compensation, tactical planning support and management reporting Assist with the review of monthly accruals, reconciliations, forecasting analyses and reporting for all GTN line items Partner with Accounting on the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including vendor confirmations, accruals, preliminary close analysis, reconciliations, etc. Manage incentive compensation accrual review procedures and the direct quarterly payout approval process Help validate data and computation of monthly and quarterly Gross to Net computations Support the development of procedural documentation as required by changes in legislation, including state price transparency and disclosures Assist with the review of monthly GP utilization files (GP rebate claims), 340B | PHS program, GTN accrual summary file and GTN reporting package Collaborate with the pricing committee on key product pricing decisions, working closely with the Market Access team to develop analysis supporting those pricing decisions Participate in government pricing calculations and submissions for programs administered by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Public Health Services 340B drug discount program and Federal Supply Schedule programs, as well as other federal and state programs. Contribute to State Price Transparency reporting, including price evaluation and new product reporting. Contribute to documentation related to Government Price calculation methodology and decisions Support payment of all Government rebates, including the analysis and processing of all rebate invoices received by customers Participate in pricing strategy discussions and Pricing Committee. Assist Quarterly and Annual financial filing & SEC reporting processes, as necessary Provide ad hoc support to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to inform financial and strategic decisions Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred 10+ years of relevant FP&A experience with 4+ years of Biotech/Pharmaceutical Commercial FP&A required. Additional experience in Government Pricing preferred Solid understanding and experience with contracts and contract terms, including knowledge of contracting for brand pharmaceuticals Knowledge of regulations guiding U.S. Federal Pricing Programs (Medicaid, Federal Supply Schedule and PHS340B) Ability to successfully manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work independently while collaborating with other functions as necessary Experience with new drug approval & launch Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment High level of personal accountability and integrity Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to collaborate across functions Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements with a strong aptitude for continuous improvement and change
