to join our multi-million-dollar National Intelligence Program providing analytic and software capabilities to include data visualization tools, language translation, data ingestions, extraction, and modeling. As the lead
Microsoft Server Engineer
, you will lead and oversee a hybrid computing environment. This position can be in
Herndon, VA, McLean, VA or Chantilly, VA
and requires an
active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supporting and managing servers in both on-premises and cloud environments, including Azure and other cloud services.
Monitoring server performance, conducting regular testing, and implementing improvements to ensure optimal performance and security.
Maintaining detailed documentation of server configurations, changes, and maintenance activities is also crucial.
Security compliance is a significant part of this role, requiring the engineer to ensure all server systems comply with organizational security policies and industry regulations.
Implement and maintain security controls to protect data integrity and confidentiality, respond to security incidents, and conduct regular security audits.
Experience working within a DevSecOps is desired, ensuring security is incorporated into the development and operational processes to maintain continuous delivery and deployment without compromising security.
Experience with DevSecOps practices and a focus on increasing operational efficiency and reducing costs are also necessary.
Collaboration is essential, as the engineer will work closely with software developers, production support, and information security teams to ensure seamless integration and support for the overall IT infrastructure.
Proficiency in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, Clustering, Terminal Services, LDAP, and scripting/automation.
They should have experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining server systems in a hybrid computing environment, as well as a solid understanding of security compliance standards and practices.
Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are preferred.
Qualifications
Required:
Active TS/SCI with Poly.
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
Will consider additional 4 years’ experience with a HS diploma in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Technical Experience:
Proven ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Demonstrated ability to work under general direction, independently determining and developing approaches to solutions.
Experience in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Track record of contributing to the completion of specific programs and projects.
Specific experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
o Agile software development with Scrum or Kanban
o Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence
o CI/CD with Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, or MS Azure
o Cloud - Platform One
o Cross Domain Solution
o C-ATO
o Containerization with Docker or Red Hat Podman
o Container management with Kubernetes and Helm
