About the Job
The Group Leader position is responsible for assisting the Program Coordinator in the daily operations of the program. Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all the before and after school activities under the guidelines of the YMCA School Age Curriculum. Assists in oversight of all program activities, communicating with families and ensuring the children are having a fun, engaging, safe and nurturing experience.
SCHEDULE AVAILABLE
Monday - Friday (2:00pm - 6:00pm)Some of the exciting things you will do as a Group Leader include but are not limited to:
Engage, encourage and implement fun and appropriate activities with childrenAssist children with homework and other academic instructionEffectively carries out the curriculum and appropriate lesson plansResponsible for the safety of the children at all times, including understanding and being able to implement emergency procedures as necessaryAttends parent/child events as requiredEffectively communicates with parents throughout the program yearMaintains an attractive and clean classroom at all timesQualifications and Skills:
Must be at least 18 years of ageMust have high school diploma or GEDDocumentation of physical examination and TB skin testExperience with diverse population1-3 years' experienceMust have the critical skill of being able to relate to parents, school staff and children and have a positive, creative attitudeCPR/AED certification preferredBilingual English/Spanish requiredWe offer the following benefits:
