JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, this role is responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. This role is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations. This role is crucial in optimizing costs, mitigating risks, and maintaining efficient supply chain operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a team of purchasing category specialistsDevelop global category strategy that delivers superior quality, cost, and delivery performanceLeading and recommending supplier selection and managing the preferred supplier listGoverning quote management and market testingDeploying dual/multi sources of supply to ensure continuity of supply of key productsEstablish and maintaining executive relationships across all critical suppliersOwing all commercial aspects of category relationships; leading contract negotiations and all commercial termsDevelop Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan for the full scope of spendDeveloping, mentoring and managing category staffGoverning supplier repricing, purchased price variance and additional purchase part costsDriving productivity ideation and implementationREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Extensive experience in procurement with the commercial truck/automotive marketAbility to accomplish basic financial analysis, supplier selection, and approvalDemonstrated supplier development experience from new product development to full rate productionProject Management and/or Contract Management experienceProfessional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/Procurement/Contract ManagementExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to perform in high-stress, fast-paced environmentProficiency in MS Office applicationsExperience with Six Sigma and Lean ToolsEDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE :
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience requiredMinimum of 10+ years’ experience working in purchasing/procurementWE VALUE
