Senior Engineer Product Manager
About the Position:
The Tracked Automotive Engineering Project Manager (EPM) provides engineering leadership of a cross-functional team with responsibility and authority to deliver key products and to integrate and test them at the subsystem and vehicle level. The EPM lead oversees related performance activities and driving key decisions to meet project schedule and cost goals.
Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect:
Possess, understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of project management to plan and execute engineering projectsGenerate and execute project plans and integrated schedulesEstablish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scopeForecast and maintain project demand filesEstablish & utilize metrics to drive and monitor project performanceFacilitate and support technical and programmatic eventsLead vehicle system-level design, integration, build, and test activitiesRepresent the project and engineering organization to GDLS leadership and our customersParticipate as a member of the program team leading the effort to success.Prepare bids and provide bid support for any applicable RFI or proposal effortsServe as a primary technical interface for internal & external customersCoordinate incoming problem reports for prioritization and processingSupport change processing metrics through tracking, measuring and managing aging issues to resolutionEvaluate and disseminate customer comments to proposed changes for immediate actionPropose/assess process improvements to increase through-put of design updates and customer satisfaction.Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experienceMinimum of 10 years of relevant work experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in defense industry or similar Acquistion environmentsProven ability to effectively manage in an indirect leader roleProven ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationshipsDemonstrated ability to form and lead teamsExperience in leading design, development and integration of complex systemsProven leadership skills and competenciesAbility to assess technical risk and develop corrective actions and/or mitigation plansMust have excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skillsMust have strong oral and written communication skillsMust have excellent business acumen and negotiating skillsAbility to travel as needed as some traveling may be requiredThis position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
