Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain internal system and subsystem requirements, including battery system architecture definition, critical design guidelines, and design standards.Coordinate and conduct analyses to optimize system requirements based upon performance, safety, affordability, robustness, regulatory and industry standards.Lead cross functional teams in the definition and development of functional safety deliverables.Develop and maintain interface management documentation such as interface controls documents and the Requirement Compliance MatrixMonitor and enforce compliance with requirements through active participation in team meetings, design reviews, and workshops.Perform detailed assessments as required to provide input to critical design decisions, product optimization and potential tailoring of requirements.Qualifications:
M.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (B.S. acceptable with sufficient experience)Minimum 10 years of experience in design / release of electrical and mechanical components or systemsMinimum 5 years of experience in electric vehicle programs and battery design and/or integration.Working knowledge of ISO, SAE, USABC and design & testing procedures for batteries.Knowledge of lithium-ion battery chemistries.Understanding of Battery Management Systems and relationships between controllable attributes, and battery life and performance. Must be well versed on all potential battery system interfaces.Working knowledge of CANalyzer, CANoe, NI-based analysis and development tools and experience with Requirements Management tools such as IBM DOORS or Integrity.Experience leading projects through the complete product development cycle.Experience in designing with a wide range of materials manufacturing processes, and DFA & DFM disciplines.
